I recently presented at Yale University’s Mellon Forum – a forum for seniors to present their senior theses to classmates and faculty members. I presented on my work in Surrogate Soundboards under the supervision of Prof. Roman Kuc and Dr. Larry Wilen. The project is currently a working prototype and an improved version is in the works for next semester. For this presentation, I reduced the emphasis on Physics concepts and instead substituted them with live demos. These included a live demo of the working prototype, a vibrating chladni violin plate and a live transmission from a DIY violin to the surrogate violin.
Thanks to Rita Rangchaikul and Pong Trairatvorakul for their musical demonstrations in the presentation! Also thanks to Jennifer Kowitt for her input and organization leading up to the presentation.
