fidular is a modular fiddle system that allows components like resonating chamber and strings to be easily interchanged across bowed instruments from Southeast Asia, East Asia and the Middle East. The re-designed magnetic shaft and string pegs strictly adhere to both acoustic mechanisms and original forms from each musical tradition.

fidular was inspired by an apprenticeship with Mr. Khet Chaikam (นาย เกตุ ไชยคำ), a nationally recognized craftsman of Northern Thai fiddles sloh (สะล้อ) and guitars (ซึง). Mr. Chaikham lives in Mae Chai village (อำเภอแม่ใจ), Phayao province (จัวหวัดพะเยา), in the north of Thailand.
